Home Exchange, Recommendations
After some recommendations for home phone system. Its only for a single line or maybe two. I'd be looking at serveral extensions, 8 at a rough working out.
I was hoping to use structured cabling system all back to a rack. |

What do you need to do with the 8 extensions?
Voice, fax, data, BB? |

I know I am essentially after a Hybrid PBX but not sure whats I'm really after
All voice with the ability to transfer from extension to extension. Fax forwarding to a single extension. Voicemail / Answer machine if unanswered after set number of ring. I may also have a second line but unsure what arrangement to have yet. If second line then this would be a fax line with broadband filtered from master socket prior to exchange. Although this line would be answered by the fax for incoming faxes after three or so rings I'd like the ability to dial out on this line if its free and the main line is in use. Just for info the lines will be analog residential lines and not ISDN although I know you get two lines per number with ISDN. Not worried about on hold music |

Have you thought about using a decent VoIP provider and setting up an Asterix server?

VOIP would be in addition to any landine service. I'm after a PBX system. If it has VOIP as an adittion then all well and good.
