What to do with noodles?
MsMcClure
04-01-2008
I've had a packet of plain noodles sat at the back of my cupboard for months now, I have no idea why I bought them as I have no clue what to do with them.

Can anyone suggest something? If it helps, I adore salmon

Is there sauce with them?

If so, cook them like normal, add a little chicken and gherkins and then prepare some pitta bread and fill them with the noodles and add cheese

have you got soy sauce and honey? If so marinate the salmon in soy and honey, pan fry the salmon for about 20 minutes in the soy and honey, then add it to the (cooked) noodles. You can flake it if you like but there's no need.

If you love Salmon & Noodles, then try this....

Cajun Salmon & Thai noodles

2 x Salmon fillets

For the Noodles
2 garlic cloves
1 red chilli finely chopped
1 small head of broccoli cut into florets, blanched & drained
200g noodles
handful fresh coriander chopped
4 tbs clear honey
juice of 3 limes
1 tsp sesame oil

For the noodles:-
Heat some oil & stir fry the garlic, chilli & broccoli for 2-3 mins.
Add noodles, coriander, honey, lime juice & sesame oil, stir well, remove from heat & keep warm.

For the Salmon:-
Rub the spice mixture into the salmon then fry in a little oil for 4-5 mins each side or until just cooked through.

This is not a nutritious meal, but I used to put salad cream in super-noodles and it was DELICIOUS!

I like to serve noodles instead of rice with Thai green curry.

Thanks for (another) fantastic recipe, Stumblebum. Sounds gorgeous. I've printed it off.

Just put mushrooms, onions and veg like broccoli or mange tout or beansprouts with them and flavour with some soy sauce (and chilli and garlic, if you like)

You could do a Salmon Laksa, you'd probably need to hunt around for a few recipes and have a play but that was the first thing that popped into my head.

I didn't realise that SuperNoodles were mega fattening! Couldn't believe it when i compared the fat in them and the fat in a pack of plain chow mein noddles.

As well as ussual stir-frys I use the plain noddles like SuperNoodles - I just boil them for a few minutes with a stock cube or herbs. eg chicken stock cube and BBQ herb mix gives southern chicken.

I use Supernoodles and stirfry Quorn pieces and beansprouts (and whatever else you like), then add to the noodles.

Ta da, a simple and yummy meal in minutes!

I often put uncooked crispy noodles in a salad, with spring onions, chinese leaf cabbage, almond slivers and an asian style salad dressing. Yummy!
