Well, fair play to the producers - they have at least made the effort this time round, which is more than can be said for the shambles we got last summer. Liking CH thus far - and the news that Russell is returning on Tuesday has cranked that enjoyment up a few notches

I'm really enjoying Celeb Hijack. It's nice to have a series where the show isn't on the front page of the newspaper for being "controversial"!

It's a good start so far IMO, and it illustrates the importance of 'casting', and the folly of deliberately setting HMs against one another too soon, too often, and too harshly, with serial manipulations.

Of course, with it being Celebrity Hijack, everybody is a little bit more 'in on the joke' than usual and it is playing a bit like a 'lite beer' version of the normal show, altogether more good natured than recent series, with a bit of the sense of fun that went missing.

Clearly a three month summer show would have to up the ante a little and introduce a bit more controversy and argument, but one hopes BBCH is a ratings success and the producers of this summers main show are inspired to cast on the basis of people generally getting along, rather than picking Housemates who will instantly irritate each other, because arguably the near-relentless misery and antagonism of the last few Big Brothers has produced diminishing returns in terms of ratings and increasing opprobrium from the major media and the public.

One thing I have found with the last couple of days shows is, having seen Matt Lucas engaging in various manipulations, task-setting and backchat with the house, it strikes me that it must be really hard to be a normal Big Brother voice and have to discipline yourself not to give too much away or engage in a lot of conversational backchat in the Diary Room.

This series has restored my love of BB, it's my favourite since the series that hooked me (CBB4), I nearly gave up in BB8 so CH has come at the perfect time
