iPOD nano timeout at night

Hi there

My daughter has just got an iPOD nano and gear 4 speaker set. At night she sets it to play for 30 mins and then stop. Unfortunately it does not power down and she is left with the big green battery symbol going across the screen saying it is charging. Is there any way we can get it to close down when the 30 minutes is up.....?

I have a 2nd Generation Nano and an Intempo Docking Station. Whilst sitting in a docking station with the power on an iPod will charge - that's what they are meant to do. As long as the backlight timer is set to go off after a few seconds - should be set like this anyway as it saves battery power, it shouldn't really affect your daughter or the iPod in anyway at all other than the fact she'll have a fully charged iPod by the morning.

To be honest with you I dont think you can set it to turn off automatically whilst it is docked. If the speaker set has a 3.5mm connector that you can plug into the headphone socket then that would work.

Just an idea, if there is a timer system on the actual docking station itself, use that and see what it does. Should work in theory.
