British GT is a multi-million pound race series, they don't need extra viewers to secure more coverage, although they probably think the more viewers the merrier

... and GTs were racing before Jeremy was born, so they don't need to develop as a national sport

Sorry optima - will respond to this when I get to grips with putting up links. Hopefully I will bee able to find the motor racing article again which backs it up. I may not understand motor racing but like you I could be an expert in other things. There is something called 'transferable skills' .At least I am researcher at masters level and know a thing or 2 about statistics and how they can be used to make urguments about services rather them meaning 'merrier'

Count me in too. Really looking forward to seeing Jeremy in his Ferrari. It's probably just as well it's not live as we all know what happened from optima vita's graphic reports. Very exciting but at the same time frightening. Definitely not for the faint hearted - no stopping distance at brakeneck speed round tight bends - the concentration levels must be phenomenal. Jeremy Metcalfe is sooooo cool. Waving his banner proudly.

Said it before, Jez is a natural on tv. The charisma on show in the house was there for all to see. He should be on mainstream tv, as we've all said, come on let's have some decent, talented young people on telly instead of the same old boring faces. Jez would be fab on Top Gear, Fifth Gear, any sports show (what about Question of Sport?) in fact anything presenting, not necessarily sport. Bit shallowville here, but didn't he look good, loved the smile when he was asked if he had a girlfriend, personally I thought mmmmm, particularly as I couldn't help noticing his hair was pushed back at the front, just how Emilia kept telling him she liked it. Well done lilmissblonde for bringing it on to the JAT, very enjoyable.

Thank you so much lil_miss_blonde for bringing Jeremy's interview over. It was lovely seeing him on telly again and he came across brilliantly. Agree with Tudor, he really is so natural and I thought he looked particularly good. Oh and then of course there's the Ferrari. He really has got the lot, hasn't he. Looking forward to waving my Jeremy banner on Saturday, and to seeing a lot more of the ridiculously charismatic and entertaining Mr Metcalfe.

Thanks charmer for this initiative, thank optima and her son for me. I think it will not be appropriate for me to take part in this at this point in time. I am not boycotting but I hope you understand my decision,the timing is not right. However I will wish Jeremy a happy birthday - there is another way I know of. Shhh.. my birthday is 22nd March so my star sign is Airies as well. Instictively I think that is why I am his fan because we have things in common. As he said his interview at the final we are' like me or hate me' characters, that individualism, the ability to be very direct and speak our minds always gets us in trouble. No surprises that the man himself got 12 nominations and I am already getting in trouble on this forum.

Thanks to charmer and optima vita & son for the birthday card - I have just added my greeting and I am sure Jeremy will love the design. I tuned in earllier this evening and while there was no sign of Jeremy, the coverage was excellent, really exciting stuff. The girl presenter (didn't get her name) was very good. The programme has whetted my appetite for more and I am looking forward to seeing Jeremy in action north of the border. Let's hope the weather is better although the way things are going, it might even be worse. I imagine Jeremy's birthday celebrations may be slightly curtailed by the impending weekend's activities.

I thought the same about the female presenter, Diana Binks, I first saw her a few nights ago at the same race meeting, interviewing F3 drivers and thought she was excellent. BBC (if you're listening) take her instead of the wittering James Allen for F1 coverage next year! I'm glad you enjoyed tonight's coverage. I thought it could have been better. They were two very exciting and close run races.

I thought, race one was hardly covered despite having one of the worst crashes I have ever witnessed in motor sport with Hunter Abbott's G50. Jeremy wasn't even mentioned despite having run a very close and challenging second place for his stint.

Race two coverage I found very confusing and I was there and understood what was happening in the two races (GT3 and GT4) You did well to sort out what was happening from that coverage... Hopefully C4 tomorrow morning will give a little more about Jeremy's race!
