connection question
i currently have sky hd connected via hdmi to my lg 37"
i have my dvd played connected via scart and just wondered would i see any improvement if i connected the dvd player to the tv via component cables instead of the scart cable. the dvd player does not have a hdmi output but does have the component output. i just wondered if it would be worth spending money on component cables or maybe upgrading to a hdmi upscaling dvd player any thought's or suggestions would be gratefully appreciated many thanks |

if the dvd player is connected via scart and RGB switched on I doubt you will see much improvement
I wouldnt buy an upscaling DVD player until the blu ray / HD war is over and then you have the best available dvd player which will upscale your discs |

If your DVD player has progressive capabilkity via Component, and your TV accepts this, then it may give a slightly better picture via a Component connection - overwise it probably won't make any difference.
But as Component use phono leads, it's easy and cheap to try - you must have some old phone leads knocking around?, try those and see how it works. As for upscaling DVD players, your TV already does this, so it's unlikely to make any difference at all. |
