No, no, sorry. It's peer to peer, as in P2P, as in the same technology you use if you (tsk) download in the naughty illegal fashion. Basically, you're not downloading from the BBC, you're downloading little bits from each of every other person who's also downloading. So the more people downloading Programme X from iPlayer at the same time as you, the quicker you'll get it. Also, if your computer's firewall is set to very high security levels, it's possible fewer of those other people who are downloading will be able to erm... how to put it? "see" your computer.
Most of these new-fangled TV station download sites are based on peer to peer technology.
