Where are all the good Restaurants out of London
London has a pretty good restaurant scene, but I find once I am out of London there are few decent restaurants about. In the average small Spanish/Italian/French town there are several terrific restaurants, yet imost small English towns here eg in the home counties Chelmesford, Bedford, Northampton, Milton Keynes, Hemel Hempstead etc etc - are all pretty much culinery deserts - unless you count a scattering of decent ethnic restaurants.

There are plenty of decent restaurants outside London. Do a search for Michelin Stars near you, there are more Michelin starred places outside London than inside.

There aren't many Michelin restaurants when you compare the number per million people, when compared with other European countries.

Get out and about, I'm sure you'll find some great places, just as I have done.

i guess london is where the money is? chefs know people will go to london for the restaurants and will only open there, thats why people dont go outside of london, and also they better restaurants can poach the better chefs. its a vicious circle really.
