I just got a Samsung LE32S86BD and i am having a slight problem, every now and then it turns its self off but it only does this when watching sky through the scart socket and its a random thing the tv can be one for hours or minutes when it does this, hasn't happened when watching a dvd via component cables or when the dtv is on.

Any ideas ??

Try changing the SCART for a new (good quality?) one? Might be Sky box is over driving the TV, reduce brightness to low or medium on Sky Box (Set up/Picture Settings). I assume you've set the Sky Box to RGB?

Best of luck

Contrast is already set to low on the sky box and the box is set to RGB. TV Still switch's off though. The scart is a decent quality one already and work fine on the old tv.

Hi
My new Samsung 32" does exactly the same thing.
The dealer exchanged the set but the new one is the same. It's defiantly caused by the sky box because on free view it behaves perfectly. The sky box is a Pace model about 8 years old. There must be an expert out there who can help, please.
It's not too bad just a bit annoying.

My bush lcd hd telly does this aswell. It does it with dvd player,360 and the cable box. Taking it back to exchange tommorow hopefully.

Could the scart cables be causing it to lose the picture?

I've had this problem as well, only use the TV with Sky HD through HDMI. I've changed the Watch Dog setting to off.

Do you know what the purpose of Watch Dog is?

Thanks for the help.

I believe the watch dog is for international use in some countries the TV knows when programmes have finish for the night and so switches it off but in the UK it's meant to be set to off or the TV get confused has this service does work here. some TV in the UK have been sent out with this setting still on .My luck to buy one ,works fine now
