I HATE pizza hut, everything just smells/tastes of plastic and the topings have no flavour to them.

OMG, I haven't read this thread for a while and the debate has exploded!

I really don't understand the appeal of Domino's. We had one open in our town and so I tried it, and a couple of times since - always found it over-rated. Supermarkets sell better Pizza's which shouldn't be the case versus fresh! I don't like the base at all.

Pizza Hut and Express are okay (but also nothing really special IMO) , but the one independent a few miles from us does absolutely delicious pizza.

So if I had to choose from this list, Express, Hut, Domino's in that order.

Think later today at work i will have a decent pizza for me tea.

Obviously i will be making it myself & then it will be cooked
in a gas/electric conveyor oven @ 280c for about 9 minutes.

Some people would love my job

I only used Domino's once for a delivery and a horrible, greasy pizza it was. Never again!

The only one within delivery distance to me is Pizza GoGo. The ham and pepperoni pizzas are very nice.

I had pizza hut today...yummy!! I just wish they sold low fat pizza's and nacho's!!

I had two slices of a large pizza (me and my friends went pizza hut) and almost a whole plate of nachos...

Pizza Express, then Dominos, then Pizza Hut

Ask do the best takeaway pizzas - they're all 6 quid, and they're lovely, IMHO.

Pizza Express for sit-in, Dominos for takeaway. Not a fan of Pizza Hut

Love Dominos Texas BBQ.

Maybe I am a snob but its beyond me why people why Pizza Hot so much - they taste nothing like proper Italian pizza, they are all mass produced dough and a bit of gloopy topping, and are extortionately expensive for what they are.

Pizza Express. Pizza Hut is like eating oil with some pizza on it. Dominoes sauce is way too ketchupy for my liking.

They taste alright, I don't really care much for authentic, it's very over-rated.

Dominos do not use frozen bases. If you go into the place you can watch them making the bases fresh. Personally, I prefer thin bases to deep pan, but you can get deep pan bases at dominos too

I totally agree with you. They are such a pale imitation of the real thing.
I also hate all this deep pan/filled crust gimmickry. There is no improving upon traditional italian pizza dough. Keep it simple.

Pizza Express definitely. Pizza Hut's service is terrible, never mind the pizzas.

Save yourself a fortune and make your own!

If you don;t want to go the whole hog by making the base as well get a basic cheese and tomato pizza from the supermarket and load on the toppings of your choice.

Not only is it cheaper but it has not arrived almost cold and you get to eat it when YOU are ready - not when some overcharging franchise choose to give it to you.

That only works if you have a pizza oven.

I just have a fan oven.

Heat is heat so I'm not sure what a pizza oven can do that mine can't.

A Pizza needs to be cooked at a much higher temperature than a normal oven can manage.

Is that because of the dough?

I tend to make my own (if I'm not pushed for time) or use a cheapie base from the supermaket and add my own toppings.

Both methods turn out very well although I find the ready made base will get over crispy if I cook the whole thing longer than 13 mins (in preheated oven).

Pizzas are cooked from underneith... pizza stone that you can heat in the oven and use is best, they can be used in any oven
