Hi.

I have a new Telly. A PHILIPS 32 inch AMBILIGHT.

Im not totally convinced that the picture is as sharp as it could be, especially on sports and when there is fast moving action on the screen.

Do these new tellys need a tweak somewhere. I have played around with the sharpness control and have improved things a bit.

Any thoughts

It would help I am sure if you stated what sources you are using and how each is connected to the TV and also whether you are viewing in SD or HD.

Thanks Gilson for the tip.

Ok, i get my picture through a SKY satalite system. I have a SKY + BOX. Its not HD.

I have used the same skart leads that connected up my old TV, which was a Panasonic which was a very sharp picture especially on BBC.

I have a portable TV (very old Matsui) in the kitchen served by a standard SKY box, which has a very diferent picture, much sharper.

My major problem is that the picture is just not quite in focus in long shots, nut on close ups is quite good.

I found another thread which described their picture as having a slight shimmering effect. i would agree for mine as well.
