Samsung LE40R88BD horizontal lines

I was hoping someone could help. I have just bought the LCD TV mentioned above and have noticed that there are quite a lot of horizontal bands, very narrow but there none the less, on the screen. They fade in and out. I have a Sky+ box connected by scart and a DVD player also connected by scart. I have changed the scart leads to expensive professional ones which are shielded etc. I have had a look through the manual and been to the website of Samsung but no help or hints there. Does anyone know what these are, why they are but most importantly how to get rid? Thanks in advance folks.

It's called banding and I had it on my Samsung watching Sky through a scart, a very expensive scart at that. Was really upset as you would be with a brand new TV but thankfully my DVD recorder has an HDMI connector so I bought one of those and it went.

It seems to be recognized fault with LCD panels, so best thing to do is connect each of your hardware separately and directly to see if you can get a clear picture so you can rule out you have a faulty panel.
