Has anyone else tried to get rid of an old DVD player recently ?
I had a Wharfdale M5 kicking around my conservatory for ages and decided that it's time had come, so it went to the tip.

It amazes me to think I paid £180 for it, it seems just like yesterday !
I could not even give the thing away. I put it on Ebay and not a sniff.. I see nice looking Sony players of the same vintage struggle to fetch a tenner or so. I guess with the advent of HD/ Blu ray there are going to be a fair few of these things heading for landfill ?

I thought about wipping the drive out of it to go in the PC but I see internal DL - RW drives only cost £15 now !

When you can buy a cheap DVD player from the Supermarket for a tenner, who's going to want to pay anything for a cheap secondhand one?. You might have paid £180 for t, but it was only a cheap unit!.
