Annie Lennox is now out of her record deal with Sony/BMG after nearly 30 years.

Her last album did ok, better in the US than UK.

Do you think there is now a lack of interest in her music, considering how amazing her voice is.

Her last single, charity single SING was released on 1st December as download only single. All proceeds from the sale go to TAC and it didn't even chart in the UK Top 40.

Even though it features a choir of 23 of the most popular female artists ever, why do think it didn't do better?

Was it because it was download only?

Lack of promotion from Sony/BMG due to Annie's contract ending? (Annie wrote on her blog that at the recent 46664 campaign she was ignored by the record lable)

Or Lack of airlplay / live performances

Or finally, was it because the song is not good? I personally think the song is good but would have benefited from a physical release and more airplay, but the likes of R1 seem to refuse to play Annie's music, even if it is for charity.

Lack of marketing. If she appeared on the X-Factor it would have been top 10 probably, just look at that fat canadian Buble.

I'm sorry to hear that. I went to one of her concerts, and she was amazing. The venue was completely sold out and the fans seemed to like her new stuff just as much as the older stuff.
So I definitely think there's an audience for her music.
I think her main problem is that she takes so long between records that a lot of people sort of forget about her.

As far as her blog, she's very well intentioned, but I think she has to realize that record companies aren't in the business of being political, they are in the business of selling records. If she wants to do charity, I think that is something she has to do on her own, and maybe not connect it so much to her music releases.

I've been a long time fan of Eurythmics and Annie Lennox and although I still love her voice I've been getting more and more disenchanted with her solo material.

Diva was amazing, Medusa was OK, Bare was good in places but Songs of Mass Destruction just leaves me cold (with the exception of Coloured Bedspread).

Personally I thought Sing was terrible, lyrically and musically.
