Hello
I have just got myself a nice new "telly" with plenty of inputs. To do it justice i have decided to invest in a set of leads (SCART, Component etc). I only used to have the "Poundland" specials!!
After doing a quick search reveals loads of cables form many manufacturers. Price ranging from £5 - £200. the only way I can tell the difference is on price, they all seem to be "OFC", "PRO", "Super" etc
I would like to get some cables that will be an improvement on what i have, but again if I spend a bit more will i get significant improvemnts?
Would like some pointers of what to get - brands, websites etc.
At the moment i am totally overwhelmed with the choices. Willing to spend if if i feel confident that i am going in the right direction.
Hope someone can help
cheers
adam

Unless there is something faulty with your existing cables?, then spending any amount of money won't give any improvement.

Expensive cables are just a big con - and make massive profits for the shops (500% profit on an expensive lead wouldn't be unknown!).

Basically if the interconnects are to carry analogue signals they need to be well shielded. You don't need to pay over the odds for these. A scart lead that is well shielded and of good quality that costs £10-£15 will more often than not give the same results as one costing 3 times as much.

The same will go for the component cables.

This site has a good selection of cables, ranging from a couple of quid upwards, just choose wisely.

I quite agree but it's only people with more money than sense that buy these cables. If they want to throw it away and the shops can persuade them to part with it then good luck to the shops I say.
