You know when you hear someone's voice on the radio and you build a mental picture of them, only to have it swept away completely when you actually see them?

For example, when I first heard Adele on the radio I expected her to be a tall, dark, big-haired Winehousey figure, but a quick Google proved me to be about as far off the mark as is possible.

Just me?

I'm exactly the same with Adele.

I saw the music video for Chasing Pavements, and did a double take. I'd never have expected her to look as she does.

The lead singer out of The Calling. Very bizarre. Such a deep voice, such a sweet 16 year old face.

Patrick Wolf! For a guy so effeminate looking, that deep, masculine voice is really unexpected (sounds a tad like Morrissey actually ).

Adele for sure. I expected her to be medium height , with long kinked black hair with one of thise mutya/winehouse piercingson her upper lip.

Preston from The Ordinary Boys (and CBB fame). When I first saw his runty frame and heard his squeaky talking voice I in no way expected to hear his single and hear that deep singing voice.

Adele seems to be a popular choice on here but she looked exacly how I imagined her when I googled her after hearing an interview.

Amy Winehouse, definitely.

... and that doesn't just extend to singing.

To quote Russell Brand: She (Joss) came out talking in a thousand accents- none of them hers!

He's quite shy as well- he looked a bit lost on Never Mind the Buzzcocks when he was on a couple of weeks back.
