BBA to be shown on BBC...
Papyrus
04-07-2003
On a light-hearted note and in case anyone may be interested in light of the current circumstances, BBA is to be shown on BBC News 24 next week:

Apologies if it's been posted before.

Also, I know where all the BB Psychologists are tonight. They are current presiding over on BBC3...

For all those Freeview viewers I've bumped this up. I will also bump up again tomorrow.

By a strange coincidence, they'd also been discussing BBA on BBC radio 5Live's 'Up All Night' programme a week or two before the swap was ever announced.

I honestly expected this to be one of those joke threads written just to see the view count rising. What a coup for the BBC - I bet E4 are kicking themselves!

It is true.

And I couldn't believe how many people viewed it. I had that effect the other night though...

Yes, I'm still unsure of this arrangement.

I suppose Endemol International can sell the production to any broadcaster willing to transmit it, even if they are a rival to the broadcaster Endemol UK released BB4 through. Particularly since E4 have presumably had the option to broadcast the whole series (based on their showing some of it) and turned that option down.

Thanks for that.

Just drawing everyone's attention to the fact that the times in the article are GMT.

Yes but to be fair they had to turn it down as it was getting to many viewers and it was ruining their image.

I agree Real_Pyrrhic. And thank you Midspan. There is big confusion with that on the internet at this time of year.

It is a bit of an embarrassing no-win for them, though, isn't it? I'd rather have cut my losses and shown the viewer-friendly BBA in preferrence to BB4 than allow a rival broadcaster to snap up the production, thereby losing the viewers for BB4 not only to another BB but to a BB on a different channel.

From what I had gleaned there was also some confusion in this dept. What with many people settling to watch the same repeat, night after night...

There is no mention of Big Brother Africa being shown on BBC News 24 as per their own 'what's on' listing:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/cgi-perl/whatso...=Today#evening

As BBA is reportedly supposed to be shown at 9.30pm GMT, it remains as to whether it may actually be shown:

Brain not in gear yet, but 930 p.m. GMT is 1030 p.m. BST isn't it?

Or to be very pedantic 2230 hrs. BST

It's not Big Brother Africa - the show. It's just a feature on BBA as part of the BBC News show "Africa Direct".

I was all excited, and then let down.

Thanks, I wondered why information was very light on this subject...

I was all excited and then let down... I'll still watch, at least once anyway.

Apologies for bumping this up...

There was absolutely no mention of BBA on BBC News 24 at all. I checked from 9.30pm and 10.30pm.

I don't know, I get official facts and then there is no way of verifying anywhere.

If it does eventually get shown in any form, I will update but as it stands...
