Hi, can anyone give me plain simple spec. of the cable needed to connect my Laptop to my Toppy 5800.

I only manage to buy the same gender cable, which obviously will not connect.

You need a USB cable with a flat (Type A) connector for your laptop on one end and a squarish (Type B) connecter for the Toppy on the other. Hope you bought from somewhere who are happy to do a no-fuss exchange. How come you ended up with the wrong one, if you do not mind me asking?

USB connectors are not really gender specific in the traditional sense.

Don't pay the Maplin price for your cable either! It's possible to get an A-B USB cable from eBay for £2 delivered.

If you've got a USB printer you can use that cable to connect to the Toppy too.
