When I've done burgers on mine, I usually just put the cheese slice on top of the cooked burger...when I put them on the warm tasted bun, heat from the 2 is enough to melt the cheese a little. Enjoy

We started off with a GFgrill, it was fine for cleaning if it was still warm, then I saw an Anthony Worral Thompson one with removable plates, great, I thought (as it was myself who always ended up cleaning the GF grill) I can stick this in the dishwasher.
So I gave the GF to my son who was moving into a flat, but the AWT grill plates soon deteriorated with getting put in the dishwasher & sadly packed up altogether not long after. We now have another GF grill, I always wipe the grill plates with a little oil/marg before cooking anything, wipe off most residue with kitchen paper, then more or less perch it over the washing up bowl & rinse off with soapy water. My conclusion is best using one without the removable plates. If you are watching the weight...they're great |

There'll be a mess if you do!! just put some cheese on the burgers, the residual heat will melt it. Or shove them under a normal grill for a couple of minutes.
![]() Thanks phew! saved loljo x x |

the burgers were really juicy, and the sausages were lovely.I thought as the fat had been running out it would not be as tasty and perhaps bit dry.. so far very pleased and surprised thanks for all your interest and advice jo x x x

I asked this question on another grill thread but got no answers, but does anyone know if boned chicken quarters or legs can be cooked properly on the George grill?
