Actually I would reccomend you try and get hold of an old Ericsson R310s Pro which is water, dust and shock resistant. You should be able to pick it up cheap on Ebay.

Well, my last two phones have been Sony-Ericssons, and I've been very happy with them. I would highly recommend them.
However, having said that, if the phone is likely to get wet, it would probably be better to get the Nokia, which is built like a brick outhouse (or just get a good cover for the T300). |

Ive got a Sony Ericsson T300 its a very good phone but it sounds like you would need the 5210 for your particular job. Although the sony ericsson has a colour screen.

Alright,
If you can afford it, get the Nokia 5100 which is the newer version of the 5210. It is a cool little phone that has all the features of the 5210, but also has colour screen, built in torch and can attach a camera + java games and polyphonics too. Its free on O2 online contracts at the mo which are £20 a month for 500 free texts, 500 free landline mins (off peak) and 50 cross network minutes. |
