Home made muesli - oats, nuts and dried fruit soaked in yogurt and honey overnight, then fresh berries added in the morning. Sublime - but I eat too much of it , so I don't make it very often
Usually its porridge but made with oatmeal (not rolled oats) and water - never, never milk!!!! then sunflower seeds or chopped almonds on top , Also like pumpernickel with a thin slice of cheese., which I had this morning. |

Favourite breakfast is a bowl of berries and melon with yoghurt followed by either bagels with cream cheese and grilled bacon or croissants with bacon and melted cheddar.

Fried egg with light brown crispy edges, a semi-soft yolk and black pepper, two rashers of well-done grilled bacon and a glass of orange juice.

If we’re talking about weekend breakfasts and I could choose only one then it would have to be my partner’s home made crumpets. It took him a few attempts to perfect them but he now has it exactly right. They’re a bit time consuming to make but I guarantee that after eating them you’d never let a shop bought crumpet pass your lip ever again!
Also at weekends only, I often make enchiladas, and sometimes we have flatbreads and dhal and If I really don’t care about the calories and am feeling really decadent – then I love a Guatemalan breakfast, as in the World Food Café 2 book, which consists of a version of refried beans, guacamole, sour cream, feta cheese and salsa all wrapped up in a tortilla. Mostly in the interests of not getting any fatter, I drop the guacamole and feta and swop the sour cream for natural yogurt to make a lower fat version. These breakfasts are really brunch and will see us both through to our evening meal. On boring old weekdays when there just isn’t time for anything else its porridge or toast! |

Don't knock oats! I normally have Porridge oats with milk & water, and heated in the microwave, with bran, rasins, nuts, prunes or dates, honey and cinnamon - ends up being quite a large (but healthy) breakfast, but I love it!

Full English is nice as an occasional treat, but I'd reckon it'd get a bit much as a regular thing. Usually a sausage or bacon sandwich does the trick, dripping with ketchup of course.
![]() On a daily basis, it's usually toast or cereal, fruit and orange juice. |

I love having just sausages from the butchers with tomato sauce, a slice of bread and a sweet cup of tea. My Dad used to cook me and my brother this every Sunday, so brings back childhood memories.
I also like scrambled egg with cheese on toast, but usually I eat bitesize shredded wheat or porridge. |
