I work in the supermarket and they have something on the boxes they are delivered in which says

This box contains 12 of these (Picture of carton) and none of these (picture of chicken)

I love it, a few of my colleagues just don't seem to get the joke though.

I am afraid, due to the cost, we dont buy smoothies, but we do make our own occassionaly which is not really cheaper, but fun.

tescos do frozen summer berries, which are great, stick a handful (frozen)in the blender, with 1/4 tub of greek yoghurt, 1/2 cup apple juice, 1 banana, 2 scoops vanilla icecream, and top up with milk...........scrummy

I love innocent smoothies. My favourite being mangoes and passion fruits not sure I'll still be having them when they stop being £2s a carton but I'm enjoying it at the moment.

I bought the one with pinepple and coconut in last week from Tesco as they were on offer, but funnily enough, I didn't enjoy it as much as I used to, probably because I tend to make my own now, and have got used to them

I nearly bought one yesterday, but then looked at the calories - You people obviously don't have a weight problem, lucky things.

No way can I justify using up about a quarter of my day's calorie allowance on a drink. Gawd.

Drinking pulped fruit is not going to make you fat!

170-200 cals is a quarter of your calorie intake???

If you drank a carton of Innocent a day it certainly would make you fat. Just because there's no fat in it doesn't mean it won't make you put on weight.

Incidentally, which has more calories, 100ml of Coca Cola or 100ml of Innocent Smoothie? Think you can guess the answer.

I love innocent smoothies. They're quite expensive though, so I cant buy loads of them!

The point is it's important where your calories come from too.

A smoothie is healthier than the assorted chemicals you'd get in a fizzy drink.

The one I saw was 240 cals, but yes, I get your point, about one-fifth of my daily allowance then, but I really don't like going much over 1100 a day else I don't lose weight.

Yes it's healthier, but if you are trying to lose weight then Coke has less calories.

Diet Coke has no calories, that's what I have if I ever want a cold drink (which isn't often and not at all at this time of the year)

Have just ordered the innocent smoothie book through Amazon. The reviews were excellent, and at £2.86 for the book, you can't go wrong

Why not still have your no added sugar smoothie as well as your diet cola, provided you don't make too much of a habit of drinking them i.e. drink 3 x 250mls of smoothies each day all year round. Buying and drinking 1ltr carton once every few weeks should be fine. A 200ml serving as per the Asda no sugar smoothie and a 250mm serving as per the Tesco no added sugar smoothie is classed as 1 of your 5 a day fruit serving.

A full 50g+ milk chocolate bar every day of the week , but eating no 5-a-day fruit portions causes far many more problems healthwise than eating 5 x 5-a-day fruit servings that includes 1 x no added sugar smoothie, and the occasional 1 or 2 per week full 50g+ milk chocolate bar. But try not to make drinking even 1 smoothie as an every day all year round habit.

There may be no added sugar, but the amount of natural fruit sugar you take in is huge and much of the fruit goodness is also lost by drinking smoothies as opposed to eating the fruit.

I used to have an innocent smoothie most days until I saw a nutritionist talking about this on TV, and I knew I had been putting on weight over the previous couple of years. Much as I loved them I gave up the Innocent smoothies and lost a stone in about three months (changed nothing else about my diet or exercise regime). I still miss the smoothies, but they're not as innocent as they would like you to think!

I always feel sugared out after an Innocent smoothie. They also have to pasteurise the smoothie so it's not that 'innocent' - it's half cooked.

I prefer to make my own smoothies - much nicer. Banana, date and cashew is fantastic, if not a tad calorific!

It is only gentle pasteurisation though, the same as happens with Milk. The risks of not doing it are too great.

I was putting a carton of Innocent smoothie in the fridge and for some reason turned it upside down to look at the underside of the carton. Written there was 'stop looking at bottom'! Well, it made me smile, anyway!

Their cutsie pie marketing pisses me off, but I buy them anyway because I want to up my fruit intake and I am lazy. But I'm going to start making my own instead, because they really are a phenomenal rip off and probably not nearly as healthy as homemade

I think I am now addicted to the stuff.
