An organic apple

Two clementines

Nut roast, lettuce, onion, red pepper, beetroot and sweetcorn relish wholemeal sandwiches

Some marinated tofu pieces (said in a thread the other day that I loathe tofu - but after trying these I have changed my mind!)

Veggie stew and dumplings

Alpro Forest Fruits soya yogurt
Is that the Cauldron stuff? It's great! I like to also buy chinese tofu (not the soft stuff) and fry lightly in soy sauce, with some chilli and garlic and a drop of sesame oil. That comes out pretty well and then you can mix it with what you like.

Yes it was! I'll definitely be getting it again, was lovely in my stir-fry the other night!

I've just bought my first block of (firm) tofu and I think I'll try your suggestion - sounds really nice, thanks!

That tofu you just bought you could try scrambling it. Chop it up into tiny pieces and fry in some oil with stuff like chopped up spring onions, mushrooms, herbs, bits of potato, whatever! If you like you could put some tumeric in it, that gives it a nice yellowy flavour. Try to use herbs that have a smoky flavour. I've made up a mixture that I keep for this purpose (coriander, cumin, oregano, mint, garlic, parsley, marjoram, thyme, bay and pepper). I also put some of those vegan baco bits in sometimes! Yummy! Goes really well with a fry up!

Oh, remember to try and get as much water out of the tofu first. I tend to layer it between some pieces of kitchen roll and stick a heavy book on top! Is the tofu you got the one in a box , not from the chiller? Dragon Foods is one brand? That type of tofu you can use for cake fillings, chocolate desserts, quiche, all sorts!

For general eating purposes I prefer the Cauldron firm tofu from the chiller. It's in a block not pieces. It's a bit more solid than the other stuff even though the other stuff says it's firm!!

If you go to a health food shop you can get some nice firm tofu that has been flavoured with green pesto. It's absolutely delicious chopped up and tossed with some pasta and vegan green pesto. They do a red pesto version too.

You've got me on a tofu roll now!! lol

That's okay, all ideas welcome! Yes it's the one you mentioned - Blue Dragon, firm silken style. I've got a cheesecake recipe I'm going to try out soon, which uses silken tofu and Tofutti cream cheese - looking forward to making (well, okay, mostly eating ) that! I couldn't get the Cauldron block this time (shopped on-line at Tesco but couldn't find it, although I'm sure I've seen it in there before) but will try that next time if I can.

I love the sound of the pesto flavoured tofu, will look out for that, too - thanks!

Haven't eaten anything yet . I did have a lovely late meal last night in a French bistro in islington:

Spanish mussels to start
Bison entrecote with spinach, ratatouille and a side order roast potatoes done in goose fat.

Lovely
