Does Microsoft have Sky Exclusivity?
As per title
Does Microsoft have Sky Exclusivity? Have Sky signed an exclusivity agreement with Microsoft to supply Sky Go/NOW TV? If Yes, When does this elapse? If No, Why has Sky Go not come as a new App on SEN I'm waiting for the day I can view a full Catch up service through my PS3/PS4/PS VITA. I fear apple will kill off Playstation/XBox if they launch Apple TV and a gaming platform. Sony are 3rd in pecking order at the moment for catchup via console/mobile device as apple and XBox are ahead and I have always said if SEN was a clone of Apple iTunesit would be the biggest and best but they lag behind and lose money whilst Apple add to their billions. To prove I'm not anti apple I'm typing this from my iPhone 4S. |

If Apple launch a console i don't think it will kill of xbox or sony or even nintendo tbh.
As for Sky they are in beta stages of NowTV app for the ps3. |

imo, the only console that could harm MS or Sony is Steambox.

It is rather odd that the 360 is currently the only console with Sky.
I mean the PS3 or Wii would have made more sense in terms of the numbers of consumers it would be available to... as then it wouldn't be stuck behind an additional pay wall like Gold. Still I suppose Microsoft must have gone out of their way to get exclusivity...as it would make no sense for Sky to limit themselves to one console and then to only a limited percentage of that userbase. |

I cant understand why a company like Sky would want to be exclusive to a console, surely as they sell subscription services been on as many systems as possible would be the best solution (I get staggered launches to prefect the software on one system first though).
@homer2012 Sounds promising. |

Why do these things take months?
Is it honestly that difficult to bring this to another console? Sorry to ask the same question in a new thread I regularly forget to go back to old threads and bring them back to the top. |

I wouldn't be surprised if Sky Go is money-hatted by MS though. |

Sky go is behind a paywall on xbox and i can confirm there is an agreement but cant disclose details as i dont fully have them
Beta testing ends on tuesday with a summer launch planned but us beta testers have full access now but i wont be paying for now tv as for me irs pointless. Javascript was upated recently and everything is running smooth, picture quality is really good with no buffering, very fast scrolling and a small 26mb to use on your ps3's. i wish it was sky go but £15 is abit steep. You cant record live tv You can register upto 4 devices for now tv but you can only watch on 2 devices at once |

Unlikely. They already tried entering the console gaming market in the past and made a complete hash of it. iOS is no threat either since it can only effectively work with casual games. Sony and Microsoft will be around for a long time yet.

I thought Sky Go isn't available on PS3 because it uses Microsoft Silverlight?
But yes, Sky are losing a huge market as another poster said PS3 is the most popular streaming device for Netflix in the world. |

Sky Go isn't on the PS3 due to an agreement with MS. That's my opinion but it's the only logical reason why not. If you ask on the Sky Forums they always say its not planned and don't give a reason why. |

Sky just have a terrible habit of only supporting some devices. Pretty much all crApple devices are supported but the selection of other devices that are is pitiful.

Yeah there is a open source thing called Moonlight - but not too sure how happy MS would be able that.
