Problems with Toucan

A close relative recently. The death certificates have been sent and letters. Toucan acknowledged they received the letter and death certificate from the executor, but sent the account to the collections department. Toucan sent a total of about six letters, chasing a dead person for a debt.

The most recent being threats of further action and charges. They say in the letter that is likely computer generated that they will send the account to an agency.

Now would someone kindly tell me how they intend on chasing dead people for debt.

When they Toucan contacted after this letter, the excuse was that the system automatically sent letters, which for a business is a waste of money and more importantly provides Toucan with very bad publicity to try an harrass the deceased.

Has anyone else had the same lack of service with Toucan, whether it be death, sickness or something else?

Oh to finish the comedy which is not particularly funny, after contact with Toucan they now say they will not pass the account to an agent. So if they had not been called they would again have chased the debt through a third party which of course would make the Collections Agency look rather silly and also provide themselve with bad publicity.

Finally I am surprised they have any customers at all but that is just my opinion.

they were ok till tiscali brought them out then all hell let lose

We have been informed only yesterday that Tiscali have purchased them from Pipex, which should improve the service.

Again imagine we are not even customers and with treatment like this we are never likely to be either.

I never ever thought a company could be so poor and insensitive considering the relative only did about 3 months ago.

I cannot see the Collections Agency being too impressed with chasing the dead for money.

it was ok when pipex had toucan but now tiscali have got it its gone downhill fast
i used to have downloads speed of between 7-8 mb with pipex but once tiscali toke over its gone down to around 160kb
also to had in salt they are changing there phone number from an 0800 to an 0871 number

My apologies I should have titled it as above. They are a nightmare, in some ways I would like to report them to the media. I still cannot see how you can blame your computer system sending 6 or 7 letters. The turn round and say the letters could not be stopped.
