I have recently purchsed 37" Samsung HD LCD TV,and LG 5.1 surround sound with HD DVD.
Have connected DVD to TV with HDMI cable - fine no problems.

1) Cable box is connected via scart provided by them many years ago however picture, especially when fast moving such as football is often 'blocky' and 'blurred'.
Would the picture quality improve with the purchase of the V+ box which I presume comes with HDMI connections?

2) I have connected RCA cables to DVD in the hope of getting sound from the TV to the 5.1 speaker sytem but have had no success.
Do I need to alter any settings on TV or DVD or is it not possible to get TV audio through the 5.1 speakers?
(I know it will not be surround sound if its possible)

ANY ADVICE WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

IF THIS HAS BEEN COVERED ELSEWHERE IN FORUMS SORRY THIS IS ALL NEW TO ME.

1) I believe the blurring you are experiencing when viewing fast moving images is a limitation of the TV, I wouldn't have thought a V+ box would solve this issue.

2) If you're connecting to the audio inputs of the LG sound system it might be just a case of selecting the output on the player to AUX or something similar that is associated with this connection.

or

This particular model of TV doesn't allow the audio to be output via it's digital tuner, it may only work on the tuner for analogue reception.

My Sky HD box transforms SD pics when upscaled via HDMI - I am not the only one to have reported this. V+ must be worth a try as you will also be getting the benefit of HD broadcasts.

Agree with Tommy on this one, notwithstanding his comment below!

If this is true, change the TV!
