Rib Recipes

Just thought I would ask for your favourite rib recipes folks.

Here's mine to start off:

Huge bag of full pork ribs (not short ribs), cut into individual ribs.

Take a large roasting tin.

Cut two large oranges into wedges (about eight wedges per orange). Leave the peel on.

Take two large onions, peel them and cut them into chunks.

Take a punnet of button mushrooms and cut them into halves.

Cover the bottom of the tin with the onions and the mushrooms and then arrange the orange wedges amongst them in a regular pattern - they are going to support the ribs.

Place the ribs in the tin more or less supported by the orange wedges.

Make up a sauce of shop bought BBQ sauce, orange juice, clear honey and a glug of Cointreau.

Pour it over the ribs and the contents of the roasting tin.

Take a third orange (going to need a tree at this rate) and cut it into slices.

Cover the ribs with the orange slices and then pour some more sauce over the top.

Cover the tin with foil and place in a low to medium oven for a few hours until cooked. You could remove the foil near the end of the cooking if you like.

End result, ribs with meat that falls off the bone and a gorgeous sweet orangey sauce with onion mushroom and caramelised orange!

Used to make it a lot when I lived in Spain - Pork ribs are sooo cheap there! I used a cheap BBQ sauce which was a supermarket (Syp/Eroski) own brand and about 30 cents a jar - it tasted great

I'm going to try it too. For me, I'd leave out the oranges, add some mustard; maybe use Jack Daniels sauce. Maybe add some potato wedges for the last 30mins.

THATS IT!!!! I KNEW I'd left something out of the recipe!!!!! The sauce with the orange juice, BBQ, Cointreau and Honey has one more ingredient : Dijon Mustard!

Thanks for reminding of the Sad_BB_Addict!

This recipe sounds delicious!

Am thinking about making it for dinner tomorrow night, but I won't have a few hours after work for cooking time.

Would it be OK to pop it in at lunch (say about 2 o'clock) to serve at about half six?

Sorry if that's a stupid question

I saw a good recipe for ribs the other day. They cooked them in a sticky marmelade sauce.
