Hi, I am after some advice as to which system people have used and what they thought of them!
I am doing an install for a client and after months of him changing his mind about his system requirements i have finally got him to stop changing his mind- and making mine explode! due to his ever changing demands i have research many different products and now im in a pickle as to which 1 to choose?!?!
system requirements are as follows:
lounge: sky HD
home cinema surround sound
42" TV
sonos zone player 80 linked into home cinema
kitchen: 42" TV
sonos ZP100
master bedroom: 32" TV
sonos ZP100
en-suite: 17" splashproof TV
basement: 42" TV
PS3
He wants to be able to watch DVD, TV freeview and sky anywhere in the house! he has just told me that he also will be having a sky + box!
So my question is which video switching unit & AV reciever do you recommend? and how do i link it all up? I have been veering towards Onkyo but am still undecided any ideas?
thanx very much for you advice input and help!

yes get the onkyo

why not sky HD ?

sky has to go to a distribution amp that allows 9 volts to pass through it so you can change channels through out the house using a magic eye

its not my thread , I am just helping

with HD you could use hdmi cabling as the rf system from sky outputs isnt stereo on rf2

nigel goodwin has used 10 metre hdmi cable so maybe a hdmi splitter box ?

i have multiroom with sky+. living room box feeds bedroom and 2nd living room feeds the kitchen so kids can watch whatever they want and if you have a single box feeding the whole house you can only watch one thing on sky !!!

next project you do I would recommend running CAT 6. not much more expensive but huge data improvement

the other thread which is similar ?

you could get this onkyo amp with 2 hdmi out, its the one I am saving up for. If you got one in lounge and say basement lounge would feed bedroom with hdmi and basement feed kitchen ?

http://www.eu.onkyo.com/products/pro...n_5748504.html

if not the 605 is a cracking amp at £ 350 to £400

hey sky HD is only to run the lounge/ cinema room, the sky + is to run the rest of the house as i know that using HD would only be recieved as composite video through a splitter! I want to make the DVD viewing available in any room which is why i would like advice on video distribution, he is recieving his audio through a sonos system.
I want advice on the system that i need to get that will be as good as sonos but not a waste of money!
if this means an IP based switcher and PC to run it then that is what I will have to do but any other suggestions welcome!

He is basically into gadgets as i am also installing video entry and remote lighting!
But he is also into scrimping and saving so need to keep the cost low! lol!
thanx

thanx for replys again!
I have checked out that website and looks good but a couple of other questions!?
if i go for the onkyo 605 or 805?
if i feed all into onkyo then out to a splitter to feed the other rooms would this work?
I have the 2 sky boxes in the loft i feed out of HD with hdmi lead to the onkyo the sky + where do i feed to? straight to screen? can i have a second main zone?
do i need different connectors for CAT5 to change into HDMI or do i have to make my own up?
sorry to sound thick but Mr. J. has had to pop out and has asked me to look into it and im a girl and blonde its baffling me to be quite honest!
basics- 8 rooms need feeding, have 1 x dvd, 1 x PS3, 1 sky + and 1 x skyHD, surround in lounge, sonos for sound and house has been prewired with CAT5!
what is the best way to link all and costing not crazy!?!?
thankyou!
