Just been on the phone to Three. They now have an option where you can give feedback after a call. I guess they are taking seriously comments about their off-shore call centre.

I phoned to find out how much it costs to unlock a phone. In the eleventh month of a contract it costs £15. Up to that month the cost varies depending on how long the contract has to run.

I will try my local unlocking store first and see what they are taking. Usually about £10.

yea they are now doing it on every call to them so that is good to help them improve the rubbish staff and to praise the ones that are doing good.

Sorry to bring up an old thread but it came up in the search and I hate people starting new threads to ask questions that have been asked in older threads.

I think Three are a totally different company from the one that started out in 2003. Most people can't speak highly enough of them now whereas before they were shocking. Bit harsh to really compare them in 2008 to their start in 2003.

Anyone on Three in the West Yorks region? Thinking of using their SIM only deal with an iPhone 4S.

I got the iPhone 4 last year with Three Mobile and pay £35 per month (24month Control)... I got £100 cash back through Quidco and the iPhone 4 only cost £69.

I get

2000 any network minutes
5000 three-to-three minutes
5000 text messages
Unlimited Data
Spotify Premium (Worth £10 per month)

I used to pay for Spotify Premium anyway, so taking that off my month bill it works out at £25 per month.

I also had a monthly broadband sim with three for my ipad and was paying £10 per month... Since getting this iPhone 4 I now tether my ipad to my iphone and use my unlimited data.... So that saved me another £10 per month.

I've never needed to contact customer services, so i'm not bothered if there based in India.

All in all im very happy with Three Mobile.

I use Three in West Yorkshire-generally speaking they are very good,, speeds coverage etc. I've never had to use their customer service (which I understand is a good thing)

I'm very tempted to ditch O2 for Three when my current contract runs out in a couple of months. More minutes + unlimited "All you can eat data" with tethering is such a better deal... All that puts me off is Three's awful CS rep. Well, that and the lack of 18 month contracts.

I've used Three's customer service quite a few times during my contract, and I've had nothing but positive experiences with them. Friendly people, who are happy to help - or so I've experienced anyway.

What is the 3 customer service phone number. ?
I need to ring from a land line as I have not been able to get a signal here at home since Wednesday / Thursday of last week.

I can't even get a signal outdoors and just a weak signal if I walk about 4 streets away because it is slightly higher up.

I don't want one of those expensive to call numbers..

Thanks for that.
I spoke to someone from their technical dept. via webchat yesterday.
The lady told me that there are "6 masts in my area and 4 of them have issues and that is why I can't get a signal".
When I asked how long before the issues are resolved she said she didn't know when or if they would be fixed .
Anyhow, when I got home from work last night I checked my phone and the signal was back, not strong, but OK.

Maybe she got someone to move their lazy arse.

I lost my signal at home for around 3 weeks, 3 have knocked my bill for those 3 weeks even though I could use it outside.

It's a good idea to check out what friends locally have in terms of mobile network experience as performance varies greatly from one part of the country to another. That goes for all mobile networks.

I keep a 3 USIM alive (well I dont really they do with a credit that has been on it for 3 years!) to check data speeds and call reliability form time to time. 3 has got better over the last few years but without 2G fallback and no Edge or GPRS data roaming there are lots of places where their 2100Mhz signal just does not deliver well. GPRS is painfully slow and Edge is nowhere near as god as 3G or newer technology like HSDPA or HSPA+ but a little of something is better than all of nothing and thats important when you want to view your Facebook out and about.

As for customer experiences, the following link to a respected UK based consumer review site should be useful to get an idea of how 3's customers feel about their service. (There have been 1099 contributions about the 3 UK network so far).

All my friends and work mates have or are ditching Three and so will I as soon as my contract is up, but still got about 18 months left.

When I first took out a contract with them about 6 years ago I got a full strong signal at home, at work and on the move.

Now I at home I get a weak signal or no signal, at work no signal.
They might of improved in some parts, but here they are getting worse. They need the 2G fall back.
