Ipod 160Gb Classic not working with Vista
TheJackal

A friend of my boss has got an Ipod 160Gb Classic and has just upgraded to Windows Vista. Vista won't detect the ipod stating that the device is unrecognisable.

He has said he is using version 7.5 of Itunes.

Are there any other drivers required for it to work. The ipod and usb lead have been tested on his PC at work (using Win XP) and it works fine so seems to be a Vista issue.

Sorry, I don't have any other info but I have only spoken to the person with problem. The Ipod and PC are in London and I am in Blackpool so I cannot have a play with the PC and Ipod directly.

Thanks

I had the same problem when I plugged my iPod into my Vista machine. When the install drivers box comes up - you have to tell it to search for the drivers under C:\Windows\System32

Hope this helps!

Good luck.

Okay, thanks - I'll get him to give that a whirl!
