Best camera for under 200 Euro?
HI all.
I'm looking to upgrade my crappy little Polaroid, and while I don't need a superduper, bells-and-whistles thing, I would like a camera, within the above price range, that fulfils the following criteria:- Self timer (very important) Decent video capture, with sound if possible though not essential (ideally, if the v/c was good enough quality to save snapshots from the videos and make JPEGs out of them, that would be great) LCD screen Half-decent memory or SD card, to allow maximum amount of shots before having to be downloaded to PC Either a good flash or some sort of "brightness balancing"? technology Picture stabilisation or suchlike A decent zoom I'm currently looking at the Fuji Finepix A800, but can't seem to find any reviews of it? Any help most welcome. Thanx! Stacey-Lynn |

OK, now I'm looking at the Samsung Digimax L73. This seems to be good for me because it has a "motion timer", which apparently takes a picture when the subject stops moving, so if I'm posing and trying to get pictures it would seem that I can strike different poses, and as each one is made a shot will be taken.
Anyone know if that is the case? Also, anyone have any experience with this camera? It seems quite a good bargain --- EUR 149 --- and from what I've read is considered very good value for money. Any help very much appreciated, thanks. |

No experience of that model in particular. But .... generally, Samsung cameras are OK. Not up there with the top of the line models, but decent mid-range stuff.
There is a review of the L77 on Steves digicams which looks like a slightly newer model of the L73: http://www.steves-digicams.com/2007_...g_l77_pg5.html They pretty much seem to agree with the top line of my reply. Nice features but image quality is average and the indoor performance was especially poor. Plenty better cameras but also plenty worse. To use a football analogy, I'd consider it an Portsmouth, maybe a Newcastle if using it in poor light. |
