Very easy, you go to an Apple shop and buy the new version. drop the old one in the bin on the way out.

Wonder how much the 8gb would go for on ebay if the 16gb one comes out.

Reminds me of Alan Sugar, bringing out a new computer within a week of the previous new one.

Don't worry, all Steve has said is Google Maps 2 (which is already available for other phones) and being able to send text messages to multiple people (which my very first mobile could do).

New software update enhances revolutionary iPhone
iPhone Software Update 1.1.3, a free software update available today via iTunes 7.5 or later, brings significant new features to iPhone. After installing the update, iPhone customers will be able to automatically find their location using the redesigned Maps application; text message multiple people in one message; create Web Clips for their favorite websites; customize their home screen; and watch movies rented from the new iTunes Movie Rentals right on their iPhone. At least they don't have to pay $20 for the firmware upgrade, unlike the users of the ipod touch....

no iphone income is accounted for over months thus allowing free updates without contravening the sarbane oxley act.

Why no mms capability? Will the SDK people release a 3rd party option?

Everything it says on the tin http://www.apple.com/iphone/gettings...edtourupdate2/

Location from cell towers in Maps. Ability to save map locations (drop pins). Hybrid sat/map view. Multiple recipients for SMS messages now possible. Up to 9 home screens now possible with your own short cuts to any Web apps or favourite web sites etc.

Shame there is no cut/paste of text and synchronization of to-do lists and notes. However hopefully more third party apps are on the way from Feb.

Apparently they are selling 200,000 iPhones a day and now have a third of the entire US cell phone market in their first 3 months, not bad at all must say!

True, I think the market over here will increase once the SDK comes out.

Where did that come from? The only claim I read was that they have cornered about 19.5 percent of the U.S. smart phone market in its first 90 days.

Watch Jobs keynote, actually yeah it was around 20% so make that around a quarter not a third, sorry lack of sleep, still impressive, considering Nokia only have around 5%

Not really, as according to Reuters Smart phones, which have computer-like features such as Web browsing, represent a small part of the cell phone market. The company said in October that it had sold about 1.12 million units of iPhone in the third quarter. Which means Apple have secured 19.5% of a small part of the market.
