Here's hoping someone can solve this one for me.

I've been using this DVD recorder for several months now and am very pleased with it. However, last week, I neede to transfer some recordings from Sky+ so checked to see if there was a means of setting the recording time - sure enough, on page 21 of the manual there is a section "Specifying the recording time" - according to this, if I press the Rec button repeatedly, it should scroll through from "counter - Off 0.30 - off 1.00 - off 1.30 - etc" up to 4 hours. No matter what I do I can't get this feature to work - I've tried it with all recording modes from XP to EP. I've emailed Panasonic support twice with no response - next option is to ring them but thought I would try here first. Has anyone got this model so they can check this feature, does anyone have any suggestions what I might be doing wrong.

Replies as always, are much appreciated.

It doesn't work from the remote. Press record on the recorder itself and it works just fine. It took me a while to work that one out as well...lol.

(I'm assuming the EX77 works the same as the EX75)

Nellie 1000 - you're a genius - thanks for that - just tried it and it DOES work. I suppose that means I'll have to get out of my chair now
