Lewis Opening Night As Joseph

He did really really well. A very solid first performance which he and all his family that were there should be proud of.

His opening "Any Dream Will Do" was weak to start off with but when he got into it he was a lot better.

Close Every Door he NAILED !!! Spot on. He got that top note really well.

Really good acting as the Prince of Egypt.

He looked FIT with his top off. Great body. His legs are soooooooooooo thin - thought they could just snap off at any minute! Very moving bit at the end when Jacob comes to Egypt to see Joseph and Joseph sings the reprise of "Any Dream Will Do" - Lewis sang with such emotion. Brilliant.

No standing ovation but I think by the end of the 2 weeks he will be just brilliant but he should be very proud of his efforts last night.

The show itself is fun - a photocopy of the production in the 1990s. Last night it was also Jenna Lee James's opening night as the Narrator - wha ta great voice she has. Im sure a lot of us have seen her as Meatloaf/Scaramouche in WWRY but she suits the Narrator role very well.

I am glad that you enjoyed the performance, and that Lewis did well.

Ditto what Spider said . The lad has huge shoes to fill. Lipgloss was there last night too and said the Lord was also there.

PS I hope Nana Jean didn't scream too much

Fab news Really pleased he's performed well and was given an encouraging start by the audience. Lee Meads boots must be hard to fill I imagine.

He's meant to be on This Morning - this morning funnily enough

His CED was fantastic, really beautiful, he does vulnerable so well.

But he hasnt got the spark to lead the show, it was a tired performance throughout the cast.

Imagine they've been hit by bugs like other shows and the show dosent stand up to repeat performances for me.

Jenna was very pretty narrator with lovely tone in her voice but was somewhat inconsistant tuning wise.

Lewis could be something special and I hope he gets to take on some smaller roles and takes his time to build a career after the last rollercoaster year.

Twingle - there was a whole row of old ladies across the aisle from me I wondered if they were nanna Jeans friends. There were at least 3 coache groups there. I thought |I saw Johndeep too, has his panto finished?

I met him in Preston and just like when he was on the show, I forget how young he is. What a wonderful start he's had.

I wondered whether I'd enjoy the show a second time and I did.

Lee gives a wonderful performance as Joseph but also the rest of the cast are fantastic. The brothers really make the show and the dancing in the megamix is just fabulous. Which brother wears a red waistcoat - Dan ? He really stands out and Tom as Benjamin is very good.

There's a review of Lewis' performance on the Theatremonkey site at: http://www.theatremonkey.com/ADELPHIbooking.htm

I've copied and posted it here. Hope it's to do this.

I booked up to go and see Joseph as part of the 16 to 25 live offer (January 2008). I went with three friends on Thursday 24th January 2008 and we paid £15 each - bargain! We got seats in the Upper Circle, seats B15 to B18. I had my doubts about being in the Upper Circle after reading some reviews but we couldn't have asked for more for the amount we paid!

You couldn't see the very front of the stage unless you leant forward but you don't miss much of the action as most of it goes on further back. Otherwise we had a great view - especially of Lewis at the end when he rose up on a platform (much to my friend's delight!). The people in front of us leant forward most of the time but a few minutes into the show, we didn't notice them and they didn't really get in the way. I didn't feel that there was bad legroom (and my legs are too long for my own good!) but, to be honest, I was concentrating more on the show.

The show itself - amazing! I've seen loads of Joseph productions (even though I'm only 16) and this was by far the best I've seen.

We had Lewis Bradley playing Joseph as Lee was on holiday. Having supported Lewis throughout 'Any Dream Will Do', I was very happy to have him as the lead and he really didn't disappoint! Everything about his performance was amazing. A highlight for me was definitely Close Every Door - he sang it with so much emotion you would have thought it was Joseph himself!

I should also mention Jenna Lee-James as the narrator - wow she can sing! When she sang Pharaoh's Story at the beginning of the second act she totally blew me away! I would have given her a standing ovation there and then!

The dancing is outstanding, the children were wonderful, the set was fantastic and the entire cast were amazingly talented. I could go on picking out almost every moment of the show saying how great it was and it would be such an understatement! It was a superb night out. Great fun and it was made even better by meeting Lewis at stage door afterwards. For only £15 what more could you ask for?!

If I could only pick out one thing wrong it was the audience - I'm not being biased being a Joseph lover but I'd have thought that any show that makes you smile that much you would cheer for. Most of the time the audience could only just be bothered to clap! The cast deserved much more praise than that, they were truly outstanding.

I have lived in Scotland for a few years but used to be down south and I still go to London to see some shows. I have even seen the same shows/pop concerts up here and down there and I have to say that the Scottish audiences are far more appreciative any day than the (majority) people from the south, who often seem to me like they're very reserved when it comes to clapping, cheering and generally giving a standing ovation and showing they're enjoying themselves!

I was at the Edinburgh Joseph twice and have been to many other shows in Edinburgh plus Take That etc at Glasgow SECC and the audience were voiciferous and clapped from the start to the end at every opportunity. We were lucky because Joesph was here for quite a few weeks and the Playhouse is a 3,000+ seater and the largest theatre in Europe and was pretty much sold out all those weeks!

We are well blessed with all the musicals up here and I hope Joseph will come back sometime!

Sylviab thanks

That review was written by someone else. I haven't seen Lewis in Joseph. It' copied from the Theatremonkey site. Hope that's ok.

However, having seen Lee twice, I must say that the audience went absolutely berserk when I saw the show in July. When I saw the show again recently there was still great applause and a standing ovation but it wasn't quite as rapturous as before.

I also visit local productions. I saw Lee onstage twice before Joseph. He was in Tommy at the Regent Theatre, Stoke and in Miss Saigon at the Hippodrome, Birmingham.
