Hi

I am thinking of buying a Freeview PVR. Any one out there have any views on the best one to buy currently??

is this for long term or short term ?

do you have reception problems ?

do you have lcd/ plasma ?

It will be connected to a 32" LCD. The aerial has just been installed for freeview so should have no problems with reception. It would be long term

at that size you really dont need a hdmi connection or wait for a HD one

so you could get a twin tuner for watching one recording another OR wait !

freeview going to be superceded so i would hang off to see whats going to happen. If you cant wait buy a cheapo one from tesco/ asda

So what is going to replace freeview?



There are discussions about tweaking the broadcast specs to basically increase the capacity of the DTT network however the basic channels will remain accessible using the current Freeview boxes (with perhaps the exception being the very old OnDgital and first gen DTT/Freeview boxes).


Basically if all you are interested in is SD FTA channels then you can buy any Freeview box and be happy knowing it'll serve it's purpose.
Longer term then more SD, HD and PAY channels could require the user to upgrade/replace their aerial/receiver but only if they want to.
