Mary J Blige, what the hell?

This woman really gets on my bellend. All her songs for the past eight or nine years have been nothing but self-referential, self-indulgent, clumsily-constructed, egocentric toss. Take her latest masterpiece, "Just Fine." I've heard it before, but only today did I listen to the lyrics. I quickly came to the conclusion that it's the biggest pile of wank she's ever released, which is not something I pictured myself saying again after hearing the monstrosity that was "MJB Da MVP" (shudder, rocks back and forth on chair.)

Here's a little test. Below are two sets of lyrics, one of them is genuine Mary J Bilge, the other one is mine. Guess which is which.

Quote:
“So I like what I see when I'm looking at me
When I'm walking past the mirror
No stress through the night, at a time in my life
Ain't worried about if you feel it
Got my head on straight, I got my mind right
I ain't gonna let you kill it
You see I wouldn't change my life, my life's just

Fine, fine, fine, fine, fine, fine, ooooh
Fine, fine, fine, fine, fine, fine, ooooh
Just fine, fine, fine, fine, fine, fine, ooooh
You see I wouldn't change my life, my life's just fine”

Now on to number 2.

Quote:
“Mary J Blige, Mary J Blige, Mary J Blige
Me me me me me me me
Mary J Blige, Mary J Blige, Mary J Blige
I'm so great, I'm so fine, I'm so great, I'm so fine,
I'm singing about me, Mary J Blige.
Me me me, Mary J Blige.
Me me me me me me me,
Me me me, Mary J Blige.

Me, me, I'm singing about me,
I'm the greatest singer you'll ever see
Me me me me me me me,
Mary J Blige kickin yo ass lyrically
You'll never be as good as me,
M to the A to the R-Y-J,
B-L-I-G-E.”

Now, who wrote what? If I didn't know the answer, I'd probably have trouble deciding.

So true.

The first time I heard the song I was watching the video for it... I hated it. I think the vid is too distracting. I;ve heard it a few more times and I like it, very catchy.
