Was it really necessary to be rushed and frenzied like Gordon? I didn't cook along, but I do think I would have been calmer and I'm not the coolest or most organised person to say the least!

Chefs are so different to home cooks.

Hi Mariaella Maybe not. I have been looking forward to this since the advert on TV but that is not my style of cooking. I don't think I would ever work in a restaurant!...lol. We even went out and bought a TV for the kitchen for this programme (which I wanted anyway...lol ).

Anyhow, I tend to get stressed pretty easily and after getting up late, working a full day along with making sure I got to the fishmongers and the butchers, then getting out of work 15 early to get to earlier train which subsequently broke and was delayed for 40 minutes (getting home later than normal) and getting everything prepared by myself I was still well up for it. Well, I guess we all have our breaking point.

It was a really cool programme and I hope to see more on the same line, but unlike some of the critics, I can actually stand up and say I gave it a go and admit that I didn't complete it. It's not my style of cooking and I spent too much money to rush it all along. It's Friday forgodsake!!! I'm going to have another beer.

I think you probably did the right thing, Summerwine, by saving it for another time when you can savour the food and do it YOUR way,

I like to actually taste and enjoy what I am eating especially at that cost! I guess I'm more of a lover of cooking that just a lover of getting it done. Did you notice Gordon didn't eat?

By any chance did you give it a go fannyadams?????? How did you do?”

No I have kids to feed and 9 is too late to start cooking. I shall give it a go next week. I understand what you are saying and I'm sure trying to watch it and cook at the same time must have been a little frantic.. And yes i noticed Gordon didn't eat!!!!!

I agree, with kids and all there is to deal with that on a Friday night you would be knackered at 9pm to get into the kitchen!....lol. It was pretty frantic at that pace. I could have been listening to the radio as far as that goes because there wasn't time to watch anything and I didn't even have children to deal with!

I can say the salsa and the potatoes taste gorgeous!...lol. I hope you have a lovely meal when you give it a go fannyadams.

Thanks summerwine, it was interesting to see how much seasoning he put on both the steak and the potatoes - chilli was a nice touch I thought.
