What Cooker Do You Have?
indianwells

I have this one(my baby!!).

http://www.falconappliances.co.uk/308.htm

With two ovens and 5 burner hob it is the best of all worlds for me. It has electric ovens with a gas hob. I know they may seem a bit expensive but I know unless I move abroad i'll never have to buy another cooker. Cooking is my life so I justify it on the basis that people spend far more on other hobbies and don't think twice about it.

I have a double bosch oven, and a bosch combi microwave and a Brittania hob with 5 burners and a fish kettle burner all of which I am very pleased with. I recently bought an induction hob (1 ring) as this is better for turning down very low and simmering for hours, my gas hob needs 2 heat diffusers on the smallest ring to do this and I only have one small ring.

I want!

I just have a fairly basic four hob, oven and grill cooker. It does the job well enough though. If ever I win the Lottery I'll be having a huge Gordon Ramsey type cooker! Stainless steel! *drools*

I am a total cooker anorak, they are my working life, I have worked for the biggest and also most exclusive brands, most expensive I worked on was a 20k+ La Cournue range cooker, Most of my day to day work is done on Rangemaster/Falcon cookers though and these are brilliant pieces of kit.

At the moment cookerwise I have :

Rangemaster 110 (customer upgraded to a Falcon and gave it me for nowt, even after I charged them for the install)

Rangemaster 110 Classic (customer wanted a different colour Rangemaster for her new kitchen..... money to burn... again got for free)

Baumatic 1000mm range (Got for free after fitting them a new cooker..... not a patch on the Rangemasters though)

Also have about 6 ovens and hobs in my garage too .

So I have all those cookers but non would fit in my new house so I have bought an old Rangemaster 55 from Ebay and have am just putting new everything on it and making it Black and chrome so it will look like half of one of these.

As I remember his cooker also has a water-cooler hotplate so around 5 seconds after turning it off you can place your hands on it.

Bog standard double oven with ceramic hob and I hate the thing.
My old cooker went to the great appliance heaven in the sky last year and due to lack of funds i bought electric rather than gas so that I could fit it myself. electric might be cleaner but its a pain in the bottom for controlability, so i am saving my pennies up for a new one, dual fuel electric oven gas hob, best of both. My dream would be an aga though.

Hi Chimp, are the Wolf Ranges as good as they look? Or are you just paying for the red knobs!
I know they look industrial but I kind of like that. The reason I ask is that it was between Falcon or Wolf when I bought mine.

How about one of these then, owned by the AGA group same as Falcon and Rangemaster, but the La Cournue Range goes up to £55k ........... You would be in exclusive company owning one of the french built ones as their average sale price is around £18k (for a no thrills version) and other owners include Brad Pitt.

Wow!! The Grand palais 180 has just gone straight to the top of my "dreams list". Unfortunately it will remain a dream for now.

Wolf are very high quality, just like falcon, but falcon has a massive advantage over these other exclusive makes in terms of aftersales and spares being part of the AGA group, plus also with some spares being common with the rangemaster brand they are cheap to get hold of eg. trade price quoted to me for a Brittania grill element £89+ vat, for a Falcon £5.88 + vat, and that by the way was the second time in 18 months that the grill element had burnt out on the Brittania

Mercury are another brand that are very simular and I bet you would like, made by commercial brand Lincat in Lincoln.

I fitted one at the "Osborne of Ilkeston" showroom and they really are a serious piece of kit, they weigh an absolute ton and I had to move it backwards and forwards on my own , it looked fantastic in there though and the cooker hood above it to match was £6995, fantastic kitchens in that showroom there though...... one of the displays was £120k for kitchen and fitting.... it had a big lcd tv that rose out of the back of the worksurface

Lottery win scenario then. Ah well, it's nice to dream.

Like many people I don't have room for a big range cooker, and I have a nice free standing stainless steel 60 cm Smeg with double oven and rapid burner.

So far it seems quite well put together and performs well, although the pizza oven type function in the top oven seems to take a million years to heat up.

Pre-heat your oven on a faster setting, then try turning on the pizza setting (base heat only I assume you are referring to)

For anyone who wants to make authentic pizzas and only has a bog standard cooker (like me) then have a look at the Pizza Maker by Pizza at Home (£42.00 Amazon). I've had mine 6 months and its fabulous, makes the best pizzas ever and is also good for naan bread and flat breads.

This one - http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produc...GAS+COOKER.htm

The cheapest I could find that can be converted to calor as we don't have mains gas here. Can't remember the last time I used it either, I boiled an egg I think about 3 weeks ago. The calor bottle I bought for it in December 2006 is still going strong, and I've used the oven more as a means of heating the kitchen than for cooking.

I use the microwave for virtually everything.

My hob/cooker is ancient and all the dial numbers have rubbed off,so I dare not use the oven. I use the hobs though.

My posh oven is by SHARP and it has a microwave, convection cooker and grill.

It is annoying though to have them all in one as I have to boil my vegetables. Not good when you want to be lazy!
