Does anyone else get this?

I adore cooking and have cooked and baked for as long as I can remember. Many a happy sunday afternoon was spent baking with my mum as a child!

Because of my passion in the kitchen I find I get teased by some of my friends who cannot believe that I home make pretty much everything. They seem to find it inconprehensible that I love spending time cooking and creating in the kitchen they cannot understand why anyone would want to make fresh egg pasta or home bake bread. When they could just tip it out of a packet.

It is not done in a nasty way at all it is all in jest, but they really do think I am nuts for loving cooking. Does anyone else get this?

Theres nothing wrong with that at all and since you cook everything yourself, you know whats in your food.
I never buy packets or jars if I can make it myself.
Mmm home baked bread theres nothing like it

I've never had that response from mates...they're generally really impressed that I can cook.

I would love to do more home cooking if I had thetime, I only cook from scratch at weekends.
and I love it so much that every Saturday we pick out a new recipe to experiment.
I don't make my own pasta and bread - don't eat much of either - but make my own sauces etc
As long as you enjoy it that's the main thing, don't worry about what other people think.

Tell them that in Italy, most of people still do their own cooking from scratch - including fresh egg pasta and homemade bread, and I guess you can say anything about Italy, but that we don't know what good food is............

I get it all the time. I think people are mostly envious though, because hardly anyone seems to know how to cook any more...

LOL
It is funny actually as they are all more than happy to eat my food.
They are all extremely allergic to cooking. My sister doesn't even know where her kitchen is!

I love home cooking, I always try to make everything homemade if possible. Made boxes of choclates for all my family this Christmas, nearly killed me mind you, with all the fiddly bits but they looked and tasted great.
