Update on my problem with 3.
Hi guys,
Just to re-cap, I upgraded with 3 recently and during the upgrade conversation the person I spoke with said I would have the internet included, I had 30MB of usage on my old contract, I asked him to clarify this at the end of the conversation. It really does annoy me, that they are telling people things to get them to upgrade or take out a contract and at the same time, blantantly ignore UK laws. - When I spoke to someone at the end of last week, she said she was the upgrades manager, yet she had NO idea how serious mis-selling is, and kept telling me I would have to pay for the add on. I asked her who the company's ADR were and I may as well had asked her to speak japanese, she didn't have a clue what I was on about - the ADR company are the 'alternative dispute resolution' and they are legally obliged to tell me who they were. It was laughable! ![]() I wrote to 3 customer service in Glasgow, and within a day of them recieving it, they had tried to ring me. They initially E-mailed my offering the internet 10 add on free (well the equivelent credit on my account). I ignored this offer, and today they rang to offer me the internet max, ie a credit of £90 on my billl, they have also credited my bill an extra £5 to go towards unlocking my old phone as a 'goodwill' guesture. The gent that rang me today was apologetic and told me he had investigated further (since sending the original offer) and had listened to the call. They have now acknowledged that I was indeed mis-sold the upgrade. ![]() So in the end, I got what they told me I was getting, the internet included in my price plan. So alls well that ends well but in 18 months when I come to the end of this contract, I will think very hard before going with 3 again. Jenny |

Jenny, I'm sorry you had that issue but am very glad it's sorted now.
The forums are full of people who have suffered from upgraders offering the world on a plate and then failing to deliver - on various networks. As lost boy said, and this is NO excuse for the way you were treated, but the 30Mb free web you have received for the last 18 months no longer exists and it would have been 100% impossible for them to offer it to you - free or chargeable. It's only my (sad) knowledge of the mobile phone market that would have had alarm bells ringing in my head when they stated they'd do this. But no-one should have to know the ins and outs of a companies billing system prior to an upgrade. That'd be too harsh. Gald to hear they're crediting you with the unlimited one instead, though. |
