Our very own section, how nice

I'm a bit worried this place might become a little nasty like the main BB board now though, I like that we generally manage to have mature and civilized conversation about BBUSA!
I doubt it, we'll be wedged the apprecation threads and a quite BB foum, I hope =]
If it does, we'll have to move back haha

Thanks again. I'll check Wiki out. I was going to anyway to see how the noms/voting worked.

Yes I think that was on the news about the bloke with the knife. Didn't he have previous and they were complaining about how he passed the security/shrink tests.

I only read about a paragraph on wiki about it
My first series was last year and i got hooked almost instantly.
apart from the obvious americansiation of it, the music, housemates narrating etc etc, its AMAZING

and there is never a stand out winner from day 1, it all changes with every eviction i get excited talking about it

So when one group gets the upperhand and gets rid of the others do they turn on themselves
Yeah, but also the good thing is that one group can't totally dominate the game through out because you have to gain power by winning competitions and the odds are that not everyone from the same group will win the competitions every week.

They do a Head of Household comp at the beginning of the week, the housemate who wins that has to put up two housemates for eviction. But the winner of the HOH can't compete in the following weeks HOH, so that stops from one player dominating the game.

Also later in the week there is Power of Veto comp, the winner of this has the power to take one of the nominees off of the chopping block and if they do choose to do that then the HOH has to name a replacement nominee.

So as a result of this it means groups can change quite often and a lot of backstabbing can do down.

Also in regards to the knife incident it wasn't as bad as it sounds. It was a very stupid thing to do but it wasn't a violent outburst. What happened was Krista and Justin were drunk and were kissing in the kitchen and while they were kissing Justin picked up a knife and held it to Krista's throat and said "What would happen if I killed you?" and they both laughed. But later on in the night Justin was called to the Diary Room and was ejected from the house. After the series finished Krista tried to sue CBS I think but failed.

In BB4 Scott was ejected from the house, he became quite unstable in week one and started throwing furniture around, he was kicked out for putting the other housemates in danger.

And as mentioned there was Dick in BB8. But he never "stubbed a cigarette out on Jen's hand". What happened was he blew smoke in Jen's face and Jen tried to grab the lit cigarette from his hand, as she was doing this he moved the cigarette closer to her and it caught her hand... I love Jen and all but who tries to grab a lit cigarette?

Just reading about it is more exciting than ours.

Edit: i think that BB4 Scott was the person I was thinking about

The strange thing is that they made a big deal about the Justin incident on the show, but the Scott outburst was very quickly brushed under the carpet.

Since BB8 I've been watching BB2 to BB7 (I didn't bother with BB1. The prospect of the UK format put me off). When I finish All Stars, BB9 will be just about to start!!

Which ones have been your faves / least faves?
I started watching at the beginning of BB6 and have watched each one after. I've also caught up on BB2 and BB3. I couldn't watch BB1 past the awfully cheesy theme tune
ps. 1500 posts!

BB2, BB3 and BB6 are the best seasons in my opinion. I like Allstars mainly for Dr Will but I thought a lot of the housemates that I really liked in their own seasons became too smug and cocky.

BB4 and BB5 are my least favourite seasons as they didn't have many great players in them. Season 5 had Jase, Diane and Nakomis and that was about it. Season 4 had Alison, Dana and the Three Stooges but I don't know, something just didn't click in that season for me.

I think they made a big deal out of it because it was only season 2, this had never happened before and this wasn't the first time he'd been aggressive as he had a physical confrontation with Kent previously about a pillow. You have to realise also, that when BB first started, the web coverage was constant, they didn't cut feeds, or delay it like they do now when they go to the fishtank or the flames and cut the audio. Because of this, thousands saw the whole thing online, so it wasn't something they could make light of and nor should it have been really as they were all drunk and it was a knife to the throat. Several of the houseguests threatened to leave and sue CBS, so he had to go and they had to make a big deal out of it to cover their a$$. Lucky they did because Krista, who laughed it off at the time, later tried to sue. Scott's aggressiveness wasn't physically directed towards the rest of the HG's.

Big shout out to mah neighbour John, hey ho, how ya doin'?? Nice lookin' thread and in the right place as well. I haven't been on the forums since the last BB as this hijack one was a total farce. Well, can't wait for this one, going to be my ninth **rubs hands in glee** LOL. Don't be letting your school work suffer now

It's strange that the oldest housemate is the hottest. Most of the other women are pretty ugly IMO.
