I absolutely adore Mr Ansell and have been waiting very patiently for his album. Well, I've been waiting anyway lol.

He has a fantastic voice and always comes across as such a nice guy. I really hope he has the success he deserves!

Yeah....that's a very good point. The Britney thing...wow.

I really liked Nessun Dorma....I still play G4's version sometimes. Jon's great.

Just found the clip on YouTube sound and vision not quite in sync but those were the days when real risks were taken. Bizarre perhaps but for once I agree with Sharon it was fabulous and their voices really did 'make it their own' - I'd forgotten it was a capella
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=P-zLF6...eature=related
show really needs this kind of act even if it was LWs idea and not the we are now getting

But I wish Jonathan every success in the future as he does have something a little bit special

For anyone who may have missed G4 in X-Factor.

I believe Jon was 22 yrs old when singing Nessun Dorma -
very young to tackle such an aria. Looking forward to hearing the duet with Hayley Westenra - she has the clearest voice I have ever heard - talk about 'Clear as a bell'!

I really like Jonathan, his voice is beautiful and he's absolutely gorgeous.

I really liked G4 and was sorry when they split but am delighted that Jonathan got a solo deal. Have just listened to some of the song previews and his album's going to be excellent.

I'll defo be buying it

The tracklisting looks impressive and I have ordered a copy, but I still have a slight problem with Jonathan`s high tenor range............it can at times sound shrill and grinding, whereas his lower tenor range is outstanding and I wish he would use it more.

I am so looking forward to hearing his first solo album. His range is outstanding and surprisingly powerful at both the top and lower register.

As a more mature voice, than we saw on X Factor, it has the richness and power that can only come with age. The taster of 'Here's To The Heroes' sounds fantastic and with his powerful voice being used to the full it is sure to be on my 'play again' list!

Bring it on!!!

Think this might just be the first review of the album -
http://www.classicalx.com/reviews-69.html

Interesting as the reviewer was not keen on G4 but now seems to rather like Mr Ansell ? And following on the last couple of posts in this thread he has an opinion on his voice

I like this album; it has to be a great start to Jon’s solo career and it’s sure to go down well with his already flourishing fan-base which is bound to expand even further. With an excellent mix of well-known classics, his A&R / producer need a good pat on the back.

Don’t get me wrong, his voice has still got a lot of maturing to do, but with the right guidance both with his voice and career, he may well go down is history standing shoulder to shoulder with the likes of Bocelli, Jose and Pav!

Absolutely agree . He sounded breathtaking on the previews I listened to. He's an extraordinarily talented young man.

Yes his talent was obvious from the first time we saw him on X Factor - he even impressed Simon Cowel

Hiya! I can't get Jonathan's website to work. It takes ages to load, but I'm so glad he's doing well. I've seen G4 twice in concert and thought they were outstanding. Jonathan is amazing. xxxx
Think this site is best viewed thru IE until they have it totally optimised for other browsers - it hasn't actually been formally announced yet so I guess those of us on here are a bit impatient to get information before anyone else

These seems like a good links though

Lastly of course - hasn't he grown up into one hell of a handsome guy - the total package. A real matinee idol if ever there was one.
WOW, hasn't he blossomed I wouldn't have recognised him, he was always a good looking guy, but now he looks incredible!

Only just managed to get on here as have been experiencing problems with this site.

It's great that Jonathan is getting such wonderful reviews before his album has been released. Just shows what an impact he has made on everyone from his G4 days.

He is such a nice guy too and down to earth. He certainly appreciates his fanbase as well and always takes time to have a word or two and the usual autographs and piccies

Can't wait to get my hands on this album as the snippets on his Official Site have whetted my appetite even further.............and the video clip on there.....is to DIE FOR !!!!

Sure Jonathan will do very well in his solo career and I know a few people who will be following him around !!

Hi everyone. I'm back from the wilderness!

Just to let everyone know that Jonathan is on the front cover of the March edition of the Classic FM magazine with a major article inside and an exclusive photoshoot! The magazine goes on sale at the beginning of February!

I agree with everyone's comments about Jon's voice. I was watching the x factor way back in 2004 was it (?) and suddenly this voice came out of nowhere - my jaw dropped open in amazement - I didnt expect that voice from this cute lovely looking young lad - and it blew me away and has been blowing me away ever since. His performnce of Nessun Dorma at the tender age of 22 was truly phenominal.

From the samplers on the OS - you can hear that his voice has already matured since then - and like the chap in that review says - he is still very young for a classical singer and his voice can only mature even more. To predict that he could well stand shoulder to shoulder with 3 of the greats is fantastic!

The amazing thing about Jon's voice is that he has such a huge range - from quite low to so very high. I love all ranges of his voice - his lower voice on Now We Are Free is simply beautiful - and then the last incredibly high note on Here's to he Heroes is equally beautiful.

I'm looking forward to the duets. Hayley Westenra has such a beautiful pure voice - and could there be a lovelier Romeo and Juliet.

And All Angels are lovely singers too - and from the sounds of that review we are in for a real treat with the duet of Les Choristes.

Love Melody xx

Thanks Melody -can't wait to see the interview and new pics from Classic fm magazine - Jon's cover pic will be totally stunning i'm sure and a treat for Classic fm magazine readers.

I'm so excited about the collaborations after reading the Classical x review -sounds like they really are something special.

I've seen this said by others. In fact it is akin to what the reviewer is saying in the classical x review - I wasn’t even that blown away by his voice in the beginning to be honest and at times found it to be quite grinding My personal view is that he was too often unchallenged by some of the 'pop' tracks on G4 albums & it was on these that I suspect the issue of 'grinding' for some came about. The more complex & certainly the operatic arias always enabled him to showcase his voice.

Interestingly the same classical x review talks about him now being able to bring more emotion to his singing. I've always found that this was a strong element for Jonathan particularly in his solo performances at the concerts. Emotion can sometimes be 'driven out' of a classically trained voice in the requirement for technical excellence.

Good to see these reviews coming in. So often particularly on fan sites it is easy to get carried away with how 'brilliant' an artist is & dismiss anything negative but it all matters. It's about perception at the end of the day & G4 suffered from this (as have many other XFactor acts) never really being able to move away from reality tv act. Leona has done it magnificently based on her talent & I hope at long last Jonathan is able to do the same albeit in a niche music genre.
