He's definitely on his way. Appearing in Classic FM concert at Royal Albert Hall.

This celebration of movie music will feature some of classical music’s hottest stars; Lang Lang will perform Rachmaninov’s stunning Piano Concerto No 2, and there will also be performances from Blake, Jonathan Ansell and Ruth Palmer.

Will be our first chance to hear something from this album - and so early in the morning for a classical voice....

Saw someone on 'The Internet Forum' says Jon has a great voice but no charisma - joking or what?
If they never went to a G4 concert maybe they should take a look at the Royal Albert Hall video of the first G4 concert!

Is someone have a joke here

Certainly someone who has not seen him live with G4 or met any of the lads come to that as they are all soooo sharming to their fans and nothing is a problem to them all

Love the piccies of Jonathan on the ClassicalX site from the next edition of the ClassicFM magazine. A must for anyone who wants some info on the lad

Really pleased he is included in the RAH show Classical Movie themes, he so deserves to be in this and am looking forward to it, even though tix were bought before this was announced, it's just the icing on the cake to have him perform at this event

Well someone doesn't know the definition of charisma - personal magnetism or charm. Charisma is exactly what he does have. Jonathan like many of the great artists in his genre does not need to 'overly' perform but just use he musical instrument he has been blessed with - his voice. You only need to watch the audience when he is peforming to see the power he has over them.

I have to agree. Even if I wasnt a Jonathan fan - I would say the least likely criticism ever to level at him would be that he has no charisma.

He oozes charisma from every pore. One only had to be in a live concert to see all the heads following him across the stage and the way the audience responds to everything he does.

Charisma is all about what comes from within - and Jon has it by the bucketload!

He mesmerises me whenever I see him perform - I can never tear my eyes away from him.

This comment is extremely strange when I first saw G4 on X Factor I didn't really think they could do it live - I'm a bit of a sceptic with all TV performances really I like to see them live before I make up my mind fully. So I went to their first public appearance for their first album at Harrods in 2005. They came in from the back singing Circle of Life with Jon starting it off a cappella which in itself was impressive.

But my lasting memory of that day was when he sang to and smiled at some 'poor' girl in the crowd and I thought at that time he has a lethal smile. I guess 'personal magnetism or charm' is in the eyes of the beholder but from seeing the latest pics from Classic FM Mag I would think the years of experience and added confidence since X Factor have only magnified this?

Lovely interview and performance on GMTV this morning. A little on the short side - could have done with more - but then I can never get enough of Jonathan and his lovely voice.

He sang Now We Are Free from the Gladiator and he sounded wonderful - lovely to have his lower range featured and the contrast between that and the higher bit at the end was gorgeous.

So good to see him accompanied by "strings" - rather than a backing track.

He is sounding and looking more and more like a classical artist proper now - and I loved the way he performed the song.

Roll on the next appearances!

Not to mention the remark by Fiona Phillips 'Jonathan Ansell has just parked his pert bottom on the sofa - well I notice these things'!
Great performance -live and early - looking forward to more

Well that was all rather impressive for 7:30 in the morning - loved the strings. Not wishing to knock anyone but the last, slightly less vocally experienced, X Factor alumni to appear on GMTV showed just how difficult it is to sing at that time in the morning...

Obviously all that swimming, cycling and running for the last London Triathlon has had an effect not missed by Fiona

Good to see Jonathan singing a song which showcases his lower tenor voice. No 'grating' in sight with his vocals this morning . Pity it was only half the track. Not sure what that was about - but I suppose it leaves you wanting more. Great to see violinists/backing group - real classical experience.

I would like to see him singing something more dramatic in future appearances - Here's to the Heroes or My Own True Love (for valentines day) on other programmes. But, I guess it is not wise for a high tenor to be singing the high notes at 7.30am in morning - if you care anything about protecting your voice.

With all due respect, more experienced or less experienced, you can't compare Jon's vocal talent and ability with Leon's.

Last thing we need is another comparison thread I agree. But I think it is an excellent point as sometimes a faultless performance at this time of morning can be underestimated. Other artists achieve this as well but so many including those in classical crossover genre choose to mime - Il Divo.

Interesting video on Classic FM - Day in the Life
But it is more about what he has learnt during the G4 years particularly the parts of the industry that college doesn't or perhaps cannot teach - which can only be learnt from experience?
