Strange behave of Panasonic Home Cinema

Thanks to Scorpio my friend now has his system using a 37" panasonic TV + EX77 DVD Recorder + SCP450 Home Cinema system setup and working.

But he still has one problem and what appears to be a strange one with the TV and home cinema. The TV is fine with output from the EX77 and fine with the home cinema when it is playing a DVD. He has HDMI connection between the units and an RCA cable from the AUDIO OUT on the TV to the AUX IN on the home cinema, but the system will only output sound through the two front speakers. Nothing through the centre or rear speakers.

My own system is almost the same but with a 32" Pansonic TV. Same DVD and same home cinema. When mine is all connected up I can sound out of all speakers of the home cinema when the TV is on. But if we replace his home cinema unit with mine we only get sound out of the fronts in the same way as with his unit.

As I say, rather strange. Has anyone got any ideas.

Many thanks, Dave R

See page 65 of the EX77 manual... with regard to sound settings.

Check that the DTS setting is set to 'Bitstream'
