2 Ipod Touch Questions!

Hey folks,

Thinking of purchasing an iPod Touch towards the end of February/start of March.

I have 2 questions:

The 5 new apps which are available; more specifically the mail one; are you able to send and receive email from say a Gmail account as long as you are in a Wifi zone? Sending is an must.

Also, regarding the new apps. If I do purchase an iPod Touch around the time stated above from somewhere like Amazon, am I likely to get one of the newer iPods with the 5 features embedded or is it probable that I will have to fork out the £13 for them?

Thanks

1. Yes you can send and receive, I have a GMAiL account and it works perfectly.

2. I think in the future they will come bundled with the ipod touch (if they dont already). You can however get them for free, if you try the "unsavoury" methods.

They will definitely have the new apps on them by end of Feb/March.

But yeah, Gmail works perfect as its IMAP. If you delete an email on the Touch, it is also deleted on the Gmail web interface. If you move it to a "Receipts" folder on the Touch, it adds a Receipts label in Gmail

Thanks very much for your input. I will probably purchase one in about a months time.

Thanks again!

Ok

Got another question.

As you will be aware, the Touch comes in 8GB and 16GB models.

Currently, I have 2.4 GB of music on my PC, the majority of which will be transferred onto the iPod. I may put a couple of short videos on too.

Being in mind the fact that the software already on a Touch may reduce the capacity to about 7.1 GB (?), is it a good idea to go with the 8GB for me?

Also, if I decided to Jailbreak it, would 8GB restrict me too much. Is it worth jailbreaking, any good apps?

Thanks for the advice!

If you only have 2.4GB of music, only go for the 16GB if you plan on storing a lot of video on there.

I wouldn't bother with Jailbreaking when the SDK is released in just 4 weeks.
