Hi folks was just thinking of an music artist thats been as good as shackled by there music company over the years for the most greatest hits/anthology's/essential collections etc! anyone come to mind?
Im thinking of The likes of Neil Diamond is a must in this league of greatest hits shams! Any other artists out there anyone can think of! thats prett bad for this scam!

The Beach Boys have been endlessly compiled. I wouldn't mind if one of the collections had been done sensibly, but most of them include the weak stuff recorded in the 80s and 90s.

Probably someone like Frank Sinatra actually. Him and other singers from that era seem to have loads of crappy compilations filling up little book shops and all night garages.

Chas & Dave have an awful lot of records out where they start off with some vague theme (Christmas Songs, Songs that won the War, etc.) and then just descend to a load of Rabbit and Gertcha'.

That's totally true. So much good material but so few decent compilations. Having said that, I do love my Good Vibrations box set.

Back to the topic - I'd agree that it's probably Sinatra or Elvis.

thanks for the reply's! yeh i would go along with the likes of The Beach Boys! every even like valentines,holidays,xmas, th elist goes on and on there seems to be a greatet hits etc form them

What about Status Quo? Pye/PRT used to turn out compilations of their early stuff quite regularly.
