Bye Bye Homechoice

Well after about 3 and a half years being with HC/ now Tiscali I have really really had enough and am pulling the plug! Have given my 30 days notice, arranged the transfer of my phone line to Tesco Home phone and have bought one of those Freeview 160GB DTR boxes for £90! I cant take any more of Tiscalis total shoddyness any more. Oh they couldn't even give me a MAC code that worked to change over my BB... so having to cancel everything manually and start again from scratch with another provider.

I can't say im going to be sorry to no longer be a customer, just a shame its come to this!

As an old Homechoice customer i am sorry to hear that, and if i get messed around half as much as you have i will be leaving too,Tiscali are a joke always have been always will be.

T'is a shame as Homechoice had been nothing short of excellent all-round before these muppets took over.

Exactly RyanL I was quite happy with the old Homechoice the way they were. It has all gone down-hill since!

Hehe :P there is only so much one can take of a company and its idiocy. My calls and line are transferring to Tesco so it will boost my clubcard points too

Unhappybunny,

From your posts on the Top-Up TV Forum, I suspect that you may have already discovered that you have jumped from the frying pan into the fire!

I fear you are right.... but I have learned you can use the Top up box as a normal freeview box... with the top up disabled and no subscription needed.. so guess its not that bad!! Bit of a let down but I don't think it can be worse than the experiences I have personally had with HC/Tiscali

The thing is that, in my experience, there is no such thing as excellent customer service anymore. I had problems with Top Up TV myself and also Telewest (now Virgin Media), and I will probably have problems with Sky at some point no doubt. The thing is that I found that Tiscali take incompetance to the Nth degree. One of the reasons I left. I was happy with the service that I received from Homechoice but as soon as it went over to Tiscali the service became hit and miss and, unlike before with Homechoice , there was never any information available about the system going down or news of any fault unless you phoned them up. It just got worse and worse, and as soon as we moved and found that the previous occupier had Sky we jumped at the chance to have it and we are extremely happy with it!!
I think companies are now interested in making more money that keeping customers happy. It just seems that customers are expendable but the important thing is making money!
