Lansdowne Fish Bar, Lansdowne Road, Leamington and
Cubbington Plaice and Chips, Rugby Road, (worth walking 2 miles to get them as well).

Do any of them do Orange Chips? That's the important question.

Surprised they haven't mentioned the chippy in Aldeburgh, Suffolk, which sells fish caught off the beach that very morning. Queues are always round the block.

The Big Chippy in Prescot was fantastic when I went about 3 years ago

Avoid Y Dafarn Datws in Aberystwyth (up by the Co-op at the top of the Penglais campus) - it is rubbish

I went to Ernie Becketts in Cleethorpes at the weekend and they were as good as the ones I had at the Magpie, maybe even better as they still use beef dripping to fry the fish & chips. Oh, and for all you cod lovers, us Grimbarians don't eat cod as you get worms in it!

The South Shields one isn't too far away from me, might try it sometime.

For me, the best places are The Endeavour (formerly the Victorian Tea Rooms) in Newbiggin by the Sea, Chip Ahoy in Leam Lane, Gateshead or Coral Island in Blackpool.

Lol we used to go there when I was at uni in Aber.... of course all that changed when Nosh Da opened (up by Cwrt Mawr)

When I was at college we used to go to "Fish n Chick" in Grimsby 99p for fish and chips, you got loads a bargain for poor students lol.

Me too - i was looking to see if it was there. I live close to Aldeburgh, and we are often seen in the queue on a sunny summers day. The pub next door is handy to have a pint in, whilst waiting for the queue to lessen !!
