Transfer I tunes to new I pod?

I recently lost my old silver 4gb Nano during a drunken weekend away.
I have, however, ordered a new 8gb Nano as a replacement but I am wondering if I can simply plug it in and transfer my 600+ songs and podcasts/photos etc from my existing I tunes library or do I have to start the whole process from scratch?
As you may have guessed, I suffer from "technofear" so any advice would be much appreciated.

Of course you can. An iTunes library can potentially have an unlimited number of iPods setup for use with it.
