My phone is showing that 3g is active, its just happened today so I want to find out if the transmitter has been upgraded.
Is there a website that might tell me?
I'm on O2.

Yes, there are coverage maps on the O2 website.

Thanks for the info but I meant more engineers info. The map just shows coverage over the area not if a transmitter has been upgraded.
I just want to find out if they have done anything today.

What do you mean by "engineer info"?

If you were not getting 3G and now are there are only 3 possibilities. Either you have corrected a wrong setting on the phone, some freak whether conditions have allowed 3G from a neighbouring cell or there has been an upgrade.

If you look at the coverage map it will show current and predicted coverage so you can easily work out which of the last two is the case.

Quite up to date. Shows a Vodafone 3G transmitter that was added to my area just before Christmas.

yeah the main thing I want to check is that it isn't weather conditions causing it and that it will disappear.
I'm in a dip and thought we had 3g already but was hidden by the dip.
Hopefully its permanent. Altho with 20kB downloads the difference is minimal.

yeah good site... found that i live 200 metres from an orange antenna both gsm and umts(3G) and in the other direction about 400metres from the same. buggers me then that i can only get 1 bar signal for 3g at home no matter what room i'm in. This means i can't enjoy my sky sport orange tv pack i have subbed to??

Well the 3G is still working so they must have upgraded the transmitter.
